The third trimester of pregnancy is the last stage before you will be able to cradle your baby in your arms. It marks the grand finale, as you prepare for the delivery of your baby.

The third trimester of pregnancy starts at week 28 and could end at week 40. Full term pregnancy starts from week 38. It basically covers months seven, eight and nine. And ends, whenever your baby is born or till the end of pregnancy.

You may feel more uncomfortable now as you continue to gain weight and begin to have false labor contractions (called Braxton-Hicks contractions).

The third trimester can be both physically and emotionally challenging for a pregnant woman. The foetus is continuing to grow in weight and size, and the body systems finish maturing.

The baby is considered full term at the end of week 37 and it’s only a matter of time before the baby will be born.
